• Villefranche-de-Conflent (Walled medieval fortified village) - this is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site designed by Vauban and is paired with another fortified village called Mont Louis very close by
• Fort Liberia - this was built later and overlooks Villefranche-de-Conflent and offers a fantastic viewpoint over the area.
• Mont Louis (highest elevation walled medieval military town and fort in France) - Again mastered by Vauban and part of the same UNESCO World Heritage Site
• Vernet le Bains Geology Museum (Incredible collection of over 10,000 fossils and minerals) located next to the Casino
• St.Martin-du-Canigou (an Abbey dating back to the 9th Century)
• Tautavel (Site of pre-historic man)
• Grottes-des-Canalettes (Magnificent caves)
• Prades (Main town in area where annual Pablo Casals musical festival is organised)
• Serrabonne Priory (Built with the beautiful rose marble typical of the area)
• St.Michel-de-Cuxa (A Mozarabic designed Benedictine abbey dating back to the 10th Century and the location of many of the Prades Pablo Casals music events)
• Fort Liberia (Military fort built in 1681)
• Ceret museum of modern art
• Salvador Dali museum
